Actually I never asked for 4.0 GPA, B average is good enough for me. I don't want my kid go through the pressure like us growning up in Taiwan-all our parents/teachers wanted was As. In the city I work (Palo Alto), there are a lot of kids jump right front of trains to kill themselves because they can't deal with the pressure. I rather have a kid who is doing just OK at school but be happy and alive. With my son; once I lay the ground rules and let him explore, he is doing better than when I hoveed over his shoulders. That's how he was able to maintain 4.0 becuase he wants to do it, not because his mommy say so.

How about TV, iPod, internet, text message, homework all at the same time? All of the above plus XBox live on weekend?

I don't have a girl, and my son is almost 13. But I rather deal with a boy who spend too much time on video games than having a teenage daughter any day. As long as he can keep his 4.0 I don't mind he has music blasting, TV going, text messages (minmum 5000 a month), internet surfing, clothes everywhere, etc.

我們都知道康學姊的兒子還是可以踢人屁股的空手道高手!!
